The American Wildlife Refuge's Raptors will be returning to Mystic Farm and Distillery in Durham on September 19th. The AWG is one of the oldest all volunteer bird of prey rehab centers in the state. They will bring their beautiful ambassador raptors to teach us about the importance of their conservation and rehabilitation efforts, up close and in person.

It will be a day where you can see the birds, try some bourbon, and take a tour of the distillery. This is a family-friendly event, all ages are welcome.

HOST:  Maya Wells is a Raleigh-based stand-up comedian who turns homelessness, a 190-pound weight loss, mental health, and her generally questionable life choices into dark, personal comedy. In her first two years of stand-up, she’s performed at clubs throughout the Southeast and featured for Rich Vos at Dead Crow Comedy Club. She was a semifinalist in Goodnights’ NC’s Funniest competition and has performed with Don’t Tell Comedy and the NC Comedy Festival. Maya also hosts and produces comedy shows throughout North Carolina.

FEATURE: Nathaniel Booher is a standup comedian from Bristol, TN. Whether detailing the absurdity of his childhood or dissecting his relationships, Nathaniel's material is packed full of relatability. Since beginning his comedy career in 2022, he has opened for such headliners as Mark Normand, Gianmarco Soresi, Michael Palascak, Steve Hoffstetter, Drew Morgan, Dale Jones, and Steven Rogers. Nathaniel also produces Don't Tell: Tri-Cities (2024) and the Mind Over Mic Podcast (2025).

HEADLINER:  Brian McGuinness has been making audiences laugh around the country since 2004. A veteran of the NYC comedy scene for over 18 years, he and his family recently made the move down to Raleigh, NC for a new and exciting life (plus his wife wanted a house).Brian has been seen on the hit TV shows Inside Amy Schumer and The Jim Gaffigan Show. Tour the Triangle’s only farm distillery. Our winning tour has been featured in the New York Times! Explore how we create handmade small batch bourbon from the ground up. See the production process first-hand from the grain fields to the bottling line, and taste the grains, aging spirits and finished products.

Pull the bung on a barrel of aging Heart of Mystic Bourbon and learn the changes that occur as the spirit matures. Savor the highest quality spirits at our tasting bar, and learn about our special releases. Relax on our covered porch within sight of our fields and ponds, and take a walking tour of the farm.

Our intimate tours provide an opportunity to understand details of the distilling and aging process.  We also include a cocktail for each participant and tastings of ALL of our spirits including limited release bourbons and products not yet released to the public.

You and your guests should plan to spend about 1-2 hours minimum at the distillery, and you are welcome to bring some snacks and enjoy a picnic on our covered porch before or after your tour.  Tours run at 2pm & 4pm both Saturday and Sunday.

Interested in learning to Line Dance? New to Line Dance? Then this is the perfect class for you!

Because our Tuesday night classes consistently sell out, this additional Wednesday beginner‑level class is perfect for those brand new to line dancing. Learn the basics, build confidence, and enjoy a fun, welcoming environment designed specifically for new dancers.

Instruction will be provided by Carolina Crew Line Dancing Instructor, Sue Jennings. You will learn the basic line dance steps, terminology, and technique while learning fun dances. This class will give you all the confidence to dance the night away at our Monthly Line Dancing Party.

Each class will be $10 per person. Drink service will not be available during the classes. A water station will be available, but we also encourage participants to bring their own bottles.

Distilled Deceptions: Spookeasy is a high-proof night of mystery, misdirection, and dangerously good fun, with something wicked stirred in.

Join the Carolina Conjurers at Mystic Distillery in Durham for an upscale, adults-only magic experience featuring Kevin Burke and Kevin Reylek. This Halloween, we're trading our usual playbook for something a little more haunted: séance-style mind-reading, restless spirits, mischievous ghosts, and a few deceptions with a taste for candy.

Your evening begins with 60 minutes of intimate, close-up magic and mind-reading as the performers mingle among guests, followed by a 90-minute stage show where each conjurer takes the spotlight with his own eerie brand of impossibility.

Expect bold impossibilities, sharp wit, and unforgettable audience interaction, all paired with one handcrafted cocktail included with your ticket. (And yes, the bar stays open. The spirits are willing.)

Mystic Farm & Distillery would like to invite you and your whole family to the Mystic Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 31st, from 12 to 4 pm. We will have treats, pumpkin painting, yard games, a bouncy house, face painting, specialty cocktails, and a food truck. Plus, there will be a special performance by Jeghetto, artist and Puppet Master!
